Health Sciences Quarterly Update – May 2013
The following information is provided as part of an effort to keep the community informed about the development of the UGA Health Sciences Campus (HSC), a significant addition to the University of Georgia. The Health Sciences Campus has been established on the site of the former Navy Supply Corps School on Prince Avenue in Athens. The property was deeded to the University by the U.S. Department of Education in April 2011, and the University began holding classes there in August 2012.

Legion Pool to open May 23 for summer season
Legion Pool at the University of Georgia will open on May 23 for the summer season. Hours of operation are 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. daily through July 31, and 2-7 p.m. Aug. 1-8.

UGA residence hall to be named in honor of former Gov. George D. Busbee
The East Campus Village on the University of Georgia's campus will soon have a new addition to its named residence halls. The University System of Georgia Board of Regents voted today to approve the naming of Building 1512 after the late Gov. George D. Busbee.

Campus eatery reopens at UGA’s main library
‘Tween the Pages, a campus eatery operated by the University of Georgia Food Services, recently reopened its doors at the main library after undergoing construction to expand and relocate during the library's renovation. In its new location in the library's student lounge, ‘Tween the Pages offers customers more dining choices.

University and contractor seek cause of breakage of four glass panes at Stegeman Coliseum
The University of Georgia and Choate Construction Company are examining the breakage of glass panes in four of the 358 panels on the facade of Stegeman Coliseum. Until the cause is determined and resolved, protective coverings have been placed over the entrances into the coliseum.

UGA Health Sciences Campus open house set for Aug. 22
The public is invited to attend an open house at the new University of Georgia Health Sciences Campus, located at the corner of Prince and Oglethorpe avenues, on Wednesday, Aug. 22. Guests are asked to enter the facility using Foster Road off of Oglethorpe Avenue. UGA President Michael F. Adams will host the event.

Health Sciences Campus Update – July 2012
Classes at the Health Sciences Campus will begin in August, and the community is cordially invited to an open house celebration on Aug. 22. At this time, all facilities renovated as part of Phase I will be open and available for view. The Health Sciences Campus accommodates two primary occupants: the UGA College of Public Health and the Georgia Health Sciences University/UGA Medical Partnership.

UGA listed among healthiest colleges in US
The University of Georgia ranked fifth in a recent survey of the healthiest colleges in the U.S. The university was one of 25 selected by Greatist, an online health and fitness information source, as a school that creates "the best environment for leading a fit, healthy and happy life," the site reads.

UGA Food Services chef to compete in culinary challenge
University of Georgia Food Services Chef Bryan Haymans has been selected to compete in the Culinary Challenge at the National Association of College and University Food Services Southern Region Conference on March 22 at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
