Georgia Law advocacy teams finish in top four nationally, top 10 internationally
The University of Georgia School of Law recently finished as one of the top four teams in the country at the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition and placed as one of the top 10 teams in the world at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

Georgia Law wins two regional tournaments, advances to nationals in three
The University of Georgia School of Law recently took home the top trophy during the regional rounds of the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition, held in Atlanta, and at the Texas Bar Association National Trial Competition, held in Memphis, Tenn.

Conference to explore balance between sustainability and Georgia’s economic growth
The University of Georgia School of Law's 24th Annual Red Clay Conference will address how to balance the long-term sustainability of Georgia's ecosystems with efforts to stabilize and improve its economy. To be held March 23 starting at 8:30 a.m., the daylong symposium will take place in the Larry Walker Room of Dean Rusk Hall on North Campus.

Youth volunteers complete training for Athens’ first teen court
Youth offenders in Athens-Clarke County will soon have the option to be "tried by a jury of their peers" in the newly created Athens Peer Court. Beginning March 6, first-time offenders will able to choose to have their case decided by trained youth volunteers. While peer court or teen court programs are common around the country, this is the first such program in Athens and only the third or fourth in Georgia.

A daylong conference on current issues in Georgia politics, with panel discussions on immigration, judicial budgetary issues, congressional redistricting and the recently passed Georgia Evidence Code, will be held Oct. 22, starting at 10 a.m. in the University of Georgia Larry Walker Room of Dean Rusk Hall on North Campus.

Athens, Ga. - Former Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears will deliver the Susette M. Talarico Lecture at the University of Georgia Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. in the Larry Walker Room in Dean Rusk Hall.

UGA School of Law appoints Rollins associate dean; welcomes new LCS director
The University of Georgia School of Law recently announced the promotion of Paul B. Rollins to associate dean for administration. In this role, he will be responsible for supervising all phases of the admissions process for the law school's degree programs in addition to the oversight of legal career services and professional development and the shared oversight of student affairs and the registrar's office.

UGA School of Law class sets record for LSAT score, diversity
One of the most "academically talented" and "diverse" classes in the history of the University of Georgia School of Law began the three-year pursuit of a law degree this week. The Class of 2014, comprised of 225 students, has a median Law School Admission Test score of 165, which is a school record.

UGA School of Law to host conference on civil and human rights
The University of Georgia School of Law's Georgia Law Review will host a conference exploring civil and human rights issues of today and tomorrow on Aug. 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Larry Walker Room of Dean Rusk Hall on North Campus. The event is free and open to the public, and attendees may come and go throughout the day as needed.
