This year's speech, the 16th and final of Adams' tenure, will focus on areas of progress since he was named president in 1997 as well as issues that are important to UGA's continued strength.

For fiscal year 2011, UGA had a total economic impact of $2.1 billion and 20,458 jobs, according to a recent study by the UGA Selig Center for Economic Growth that looked at the impact of all 35 University System of Georgia intuitions.
