Portrait unveiling to kick off Diversity Days celebration at the University of Georgia
The University of Georgia will kick off a weeklong celebration of diversity on Sept. 17 with a portrait unveiling of its first African-American alumni. Formal portraits of Charlayne Hunter-Gault, Mary Frances Early and the late Hamilton Holmes will be formally unveiled at their new home in the Holmes-Hunter Academic Building.

UGA kicks off Black History Month with production at the Morton Theater
UGA will launch its Black History Month festivities with a special performance of Peaches by Progress Theatre. The production will be Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Morton Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.

UGA, Athens-Clarke County government and school district to sponsor third annual “Freedom Brea
The University of Georgia and Athens-Clarke County government and school district prepare to host the third annual "Freedom Breakfast" in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. national holiday. The breakfast is scheduled for 7:30 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2006, in Georgia Hall at the Tate Student Center on the UGA campus. Damon Evans, UGA's director of athletics, will be the keynote speaker and four recipients of the "Fulfilling the Dream" award will be presented.
