UGA Traffic Injury Prevention Institute awarded grant for statewide education programs
The University of Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute has been awarded a $640,000 grant from the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety to continue its statewide education programs in the areas of child passenger safety, parent and teen driving safety and senior driver education.

NASA engineer, UGA alumnus to speak at College of Engineering
Russ Fortson, an engineer with NASA contractor Science Applications International Corporation, will be the inaugural speaker for the University of Georgia College of Engineering's Homecoming Symposium Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. in the Driftmier Engineering Center auditorium. UGA offers training course for economic development professionals
The University of Georgia Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach is offering training courses on "Financing Economic Development and Deal Structuring." Intended for Georgia economic development professionals, the one-day courses will be offered Dec. 5 at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and in Tifton on Feb. 5 at the UGA-Tifton Conference Center.

UGA Parents Leadership Council accepting grant proposals for student life
The University of Georgia Parents and Families Association and its Parents Leadership Council are accepting grant proposals for the 2014-2015 academic year. Grant applications are due by the close of business Feb.7. Grants will be accepted only from UGA schools, colleges, units, departments, divisions or recognized student organizations registered with the department of campus life.
