First Book UGA receives top student organization award
First Book UGA was named "Organization of the Year" during the 16th Annual H. Gordon and Francis S. Davis Student Organization Achievement and Recognition Awards, given out April 6 at the Tate Student Center. Two UGA Honors students named 2017 Goldwater Scholars
University of Georgia juniors and Honors Program students Morgan Gibbs and Mallory Harris are among 240 students across the nation to be recognized as Barry Goldwater Scholars, earning the highest undergraduate award of its type for the fields of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering.

UGA students win national policy competition for TurnKey app
A new app wants to reward teens for not using the phone while driving. Created by students from the University of Georgia, the app recently took first place at the University of Pennsylvania's Fels National Invitational Public Policy Challenge held March 24-26 in Philadelphia.

Georgia Museum of Art receives statewide awards
The Georgia Association of Museums and Galleries presented the Georgia Museum of Art at the University Georgia with five awards at its annual conference, held in Augusta, Georgia, Jan. 18-20. The museum received the following awards: Education Program of the Year, Student Project, Exhibition of the Year, Community Service Award, and Museum Professional of the Year.

Hanna Holley crowned Miss University of Georgia 2017
Hanna Holley, a third-year public relations student from Dublin was crowned Miss University of Georgia 2017 at the annual scholarship pageant held Jan. 21 in the UGA Fine Arts Auditorium. A 2014 graduate of West Laurens High School, she is the daughter of Dennis and Dawn Holley.
