UGA Chief Information Officer and Associate Provost Barbara White is Woman of the Year finalist

Athens, Ga. – UGA Chief Information Officer and Associate Provost Barbara White was recently selected as a finalist in the Women of the Year in Technology Award in the not for profit / public sector category, one of three awards sponsored by the Women in Technology organization. The finalists were chosen from 50 nominees representing industries ranging from travel and energy to communications and construction.

The Women of the Year in Technology Awards recognize the achievements of Georgia women in technology leadership roles. The award was established in 1999 to show appreciation for women in the Georgia technology community who contributed their talents and leadership, both within their organization and within their community.

White noted that although she prefers to be behind the scenes, she is “clearly honored and humbled at being nominated and included.”
