Athens, Ga. – Two University of Georgia College of Pharmacy faculty have written a book to aidstudents planning for a career in pharmacy. Marie Chisholm, professor of clinical and administrative pharmacy, along with Ken Duke, clinical assistant professor, have authored the third edition of How to Prepare for the PCAT: Pharmacy College Admission Test, recently published by Barron’s Educational Series, Inc.
Most of the nation’s leading pharmacy schools require PCAT scores along with the application. How well a student does on this test can make the difference between acceptance and rejection.
The newly updated edition features the following: an overview of the pharmacy profession, starting with required pre-pharmacy courses, application to pharmacy schools and PCAT registration procedures; an up-to-date directory of pharmacy colleges; a detailed description of the PCAT format, how the test is scored and strategies to increase the score.
