Athens, Ga. - University of Georgia faculty members David Berle, with the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and Kim Skobba, with the College of Family and Consumer Sciences, on Friday, Dec. 18, will deliver a tiny house built by students in a College of Family and Consumer Science service-learning class to a farmer working on a middle Georgia organic farm.

Who: The house is being donated to Darby Weaver, who is employed by Walker Organic Farms in Sylvania.

When: Leave Athens at 9 a.m. Friday, arrive in Sylvania at approximately 1 p.m.

Berle will be available to talk to reporters between 8 and 9 a.m. at the UGArden, 2500 S. Milledge Ave., Athens, Ga., from 8-9 a.m.

Berle and Skobba launched the "Green Building and the Tiny House Movement" course in the fall 2015 semester to teach students about green and sustainable construction. They worked with Georgia Organics, a statewide nonprofit organization that promotes organic farming, to identify farmers to receive the house built by students.
