Atlanta, Ga. - Federal Reserve Board of Governors member Elizabeth A. Duke will deliver the keynote address Feb. 5 at 8:30 a.m. at the 17th annual Southeastern Bank Management and Directors Conference at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth.

Hosted by the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, the conference is a one-day professional forum focused on community banking in the Southeast. It comes just as banks are beginning to recover from the financial crisis and deal with new regulations.

The event is intended for bank managers and directors from all sizes of financial institutions. Registration is $425 and $375 for each additional attendee.

Since 2008, Duke has served on the Federal Reserve Board, where she helps formulate monetary policy and ensure a safe and stable financial system. Prior to her appointment, Duke had been senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of TowneBank, an executive vice president at Wachovia and chairman of the American Bankers Association.

The conference will also feature talks from Robert Braswell, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance; Ron Samuels, CEO of Avenue Bank; and a panel of CEOs from various Georgia banks.
