Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia Graduate Student Association will host the 15th annual Interdisciplinary Research Conference Feb. 27 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the first floor of the Tate Student Center.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Explore. Create. Inspire.” It will look at collaborative works and explore topics including using Shakespeare in service-learning activities, fostering creativity in mathematics classes, and using citizen science to impact snake conservation.
This student-driven conference brings together graduate and professional students from departments and universities across UGA to share research and ideas. The conference will feature research presentations, workshops and art dialogues.
Meredith Welch-Devine, director of interdisciplinary studies at the UGA Graduate School and associate director of the Center for Integrative Conservation Research, will be the keynote speaker. She will give a presentation on “Embracing and Bridging Divides: Interdisciplinary Scholarship at UGA and Beyond.” She will speak about the evolution of interdisciplinary scholarship and teaching, highlighting opportunities for students and offering ideas for institutional progress. Her presentation will be at noon in Room 135 of Tate Student Center.
The conference is free and open to the public.
