Hollywood agent/attorney offers an agent's perspective in UGA presentation

Athens, Ga. – Leading Hollywood agent and attorney, Norman Aladjem, will speak on “Making It in Hollywood: An Agent’s Perspective” at the University of Georgia on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 4 p.m. in the School of Law, Room A. Sponsored by UGA’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, the presentation is free and open to all.

Aladjem, who works with Paradigm Agency, will discuss agency representation, entertainment law and financing, and how movies and television work. He will also answer questions about getting into the entertainment industry.

After receiving his juris doctor from the UCLA School of Law, Aladjem began his career in 1981 as an attorney practicing at the renowned entertainment law firm of Armstrong, Hirsch, Jackoway, Tyerman & Wertheimer.

In 1987, Aladjem founded Innovative Talent, Inc., a personal management and production company, where in addition to representing clients in the motion picture, television and music industries, he produced and co-wrote the motion picture Firewalker, starring Chuck Norris and Louis Gossett Jr.

Aladjem took a sabbatical from the entertainment industry in 1992 to work on President Bill Clinton’s first presidential campaign. The native of Uruguay served the organization as director of the World Cup USA Legacy Tour and served as a member of the World Cup’s Head of State protocol group.

Aladjem headed back to Hollywood in 1995, joining Writers and Artists Agency as an agent, rising to become chairman and CEO of the company in 1999. Then in 2004, Aladjem sold Writers and Artists to Paradigm, where he represents actors, writers and directors in motion pictures and television, and oversees the international and independent film packaging and financing unit.

Established in 1993, Paradigm has quickly established itself as one of the most distinctive in the talent and literary business. With offices in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville and Monterey, the agency represents clients across all entertainment categories including motion picture, television, music, comedy and personal appearances, theatre, publishing, new media and commercial endorsements.

Paradigm’s talent roster features hundreds of artists including Dennis Franz, Laurence Fishburne, William Friedkin, Andy Garcia, Billy Zane, Aaron McGruder, John McTiernan, Mya, Coldplay, Hadjii, Sinead O’Connor and Teri Hatcher.
