Athens, Ga. – Larry B. Dendy will discuss his recently published guide to the University of Georgia campus, “Through the Arch: An Illustrated Guide to the University of Georgia Campus,” Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. in Lecture Hall 125 of the UGA College of Environment and Design’s Jackson Street Building. Books will be available for purchase and a book signing will follow.
The first comprehensive portrait of UGA to be published in more than a decade, “Through the Arch” is an up-to-date guide of campus buildings. Full of color photographs, the book profiles 140 buildings, landmarks and spaces on UGA’s campus. The book is published by the University of Georgia Press.
Dendy worked for 37 years in the UGA Office of Public Affairs as a writer, editor, News Service director, associate director, speechwriter and special projects manager. This tenure provided him with extensive knowledge about UGA history, lore, traditions, personalities, facilities, resources, and values-information that enabled him to write this book. He served as the city editor at the Tifton Gazette, as a reporter at the Winston-Salem Journal, and from 1965 to 1967, as a Peace Corps volunteer in India. He received his bachelor of arts in journalism from UGA in 1965.

The book talk and signing is part of the UGA Spotlight on the Arts festival. The Spotlight on the Arts festival is presented by the UGA Arts Council, of which UGA Press is a participating unit.
