Legge named associate provost for academic planning at UGA

Athens, Ga. – Jerome Legge, who has served as interim associate provost for academic planning at the University of Georgia since January, has been named to the post on a permanent basis, effective Sept. 1.

The appointment was announced by Jere Morehead, senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, to whom Legge will continue to report.

“Dr. Legge has done an outstanding job in leading the Office of Academic Planning for the past eight months, and I am pleased he will continue in this important institutional role,” said Morehead.

The Office of Academic Planning, which includes the Office of Institutional Research, is responsible for coordinating the university’s accreditation process and implementing its strategic plan. The office also handles program review and assessment at the institutional level.

Legge has been affiliated with UGA since 1980 and most recently served as associate dean of the School of Public and International Affairs. He also has been director of the school’s highly ranked master of public administration program. As a faculty member, he taught graduate courses in research methods and program evaluation in the department of public administration and policy, as well as an undergraduate course on the Holocaust and contemporary German politics in the department of international affairs.
