Love inducted into University of Georgia’s Public Relations Hall of Fame

Athens, Ga. – Jackson Spalding’s Bari Love recently was inducted into the Public Relations Hall of Fame at the University of Georgia Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Love is the 2010 winner of the Order of the Phoenix Award from the Public Relations Society of America’s Georgia chapter. The Order of the Phoenix Award is Georgia PRSA’s highest individual award for outstanding career achievements of at least 20 years. As its winner, Love received automatic induction into the PRSA/Grady College Public Relations Hall of Fame.

While visiting Grady, she guest lectured to a class of graduate and Honors Program public relations students and was honored during an afternoon reception.

Love joined Jackson Spalding’s Atlanta office in early 2007 to support strategic communications planning and new business development for the firm. She currently leads the Chick-fil-A account and oversees projects for Primrose Schools, Purchasing Power, Orkin, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and United Way. She also serves as a mentor to many Jackson Spalding team members and as a community connector for many agency clients.

Love’s public relations work spans three decades and includes serving as managing director of an international agency’s Atlanta office, executive vice president at one of the Southeast’s largest integrated marketing agencies and vice president of marketing for the United Way of Metro Atlanta.

Love’s client work has garnered a number of awards including the PR Week “Product Brand Development Campaign of the Year” and the MAX Award from the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University.

Her career achievements were recognized in 2008 with the Georgia PRSA Chapter’s Radiant Star Award.

Before her career in public relations, Love traveled the Southeast as a writer for Southern Living. More than 300 articles and photographs to her credit were published during her four years at the magazine. Her early work is mentioned in a memoir published by Southern Living editor Gary McCalla.

Love graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama with a degree in political science. She also earned a certificate from the Georgia Tech Management Institute and is an alumna of the Buckhead Business Association Leadership Development Program and the 2006 Class of Leadership Atlanta. She is a former president of PRSA’s Georgia Chapter and currently serves on the boards of 21st Century Leaders, Central Atlanta Progress and Leadership Atlanta.
