Media Advisory: UGA to stream Freedom Breakfast live on Web

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia will stream live video of the sixth annual Freedom Breakfast on the Web beginning at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 16.

A link to the video will be posted on UGA’s home page, www.uga.edu. Viewers will need Real Player, which is available for free download from www.real.com.

The breakfast also will be broadcast live on Cable Channel 15.

At the Freedom Breakfast, an annual event celebrating the life of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the 2009 Fulfilling the Dream Award will be presented to four individuals who have made significant efforts to build bridges of understanding. The speaker will be U.S. Rep. and civil rights activist John Lewis.

The breakfast, sponsored by UGA and the Athens-Clarke County government and school district, will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m.
