Athens, Ga. - The University of Georgia Parents Leadership Council is accepting grant proposals for the 2012-13 academic year. Grant applications are due Feb. 3 by the close of business. Grants will be accepted only from UGA schools, colleges, units, departments, divisions and recognized student organizations registered with the department of campus life.

Proposals must demonstrate a direct and positive impact on student life at UGA. A committee established by the Parents Leadership Council will award grants in the spring.

Since 2002, the council has funded more than $800,000 in grants to several programs and organizations on campus, including counseling and psychiatric services at the University Health Center, the Office of International Education and the Office of Student Financial Aid.

For a complete list of guidelines and requirements, see http://www.externalaffairs.uga.edu/parents_families/. For more information, contact Tammy Gilland, UGA senior director of development, at tgilland@uga.edu.
