Shivers named lead facilitator for LeaderShape

Athens, Ga. – Melissa Shivers, director of intercultural affairs at the University of Georgia, has been named one of 23 national lead facilitators for The LeaderShape Institute’s 2008 faculty.

The LeaderShape Institute builds leadership skills through its hands-on, multi-dimensional curriculum which is presented by a group of facilitators who volunteer to devote a week of their time to helping develop leaders. While each of them has experience working with young adults, they are all highly respected in their own professions and serve as excellent leadership role models for the students. LeaderShape Institute facilitators play prominent roles in the higher educational realm, corporate organizations and non-profit settings. Since 1986, more than 20,000 participants from all over the world have graduated from the program.

Shivers has been director of intercultural affairs at UGA since early 2007.
