Activities Fair encourages student involvement in clubs and organizations

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia Center for Student Organizations will hold its annual Fall Activities Fair Aug. 27 from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on the Tate Student Center Plaza, North and West Lawns. The fair is designed to encourage students to become involved in campus clubs and organizations.

More than 200 of the university’s nearly 700 registered student organizations will staff booths at the fair in order to provide information and recruit new members. Admission is free and the fair is open to students, faculty, staff and members of the Athens community.

Joshua Podvin, senior coordinator for the CSO, says students who are actively involved in campus organizations will find their experiences at the university to be more satisfying and successful.

“Registered organizations are a meaningful way for students to meet others who share their passions and to get involved in campus life as a supplement to their academic pursuits,” he said.

The Center for Student Organizations is a unit within UGA’s Division of Student Affairs. For more information, call 706-542-8584 or see http://stuorgs.uga.edu.
