UGA to host campus sustainability walking tours on April 21

Athens, Ga. – In conjunction with the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the University of Georgia Office of Sustainability and Go Green Alliance are hosting campus sustainability walking tours of UGA’s north, south and east campus precincts on April 21. The interactive student-led tours will highlight campus sustainability initiatives in the areas of academics, research, student engagement and operations, with a focus on green building and sustainable site design.

North, south and east campus tours will run concurrently beginning at 3 p.m. at the new Tate Student Center West Lawn green roof plaza. Participants will be bused to the start of the walking tour locations. The tours will conclude at 4:30 p.m. with a waste-free reception at the Tate Center to include live music and light, local fare.

Participants are encouraged to attend a film screening and panel discussion of the documentary “Life” in the Miller Learning Center Room 171 beginning at 6 p.m. Parking for the events is available in the Tate Center parking deck.

Proper footwear is encouraged.
