UGA community will get opportunity to sign support beam for Tate Student Center expansion

Athens, Ga. – Students, faculty and staff at the University of Georgia will have a chance to sign a support beam for the Tate Student Center expansion on Tuesday, April 22. The 22-foot steel beam will be placed on the Tate Student Center lawn for members of the university community to sign between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The beam will be put in place in late May to support the roof of the new building.

The $58-million Tate Student Center expansion and renovation project is expected to be completed in late spring 2009. The project is funded through a student activity fee increase approved by students in a 2005 referendum vote.
