Athens, Ga. – After an eighteen month fundraising effort involving all of UGA’s Greek Councils, the Greek Life Office will break ground on a Habitat for Humanity house, on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m. at 105 Red Fern Circle in Bogart.
“The House the Greeks Built” project will construct a new residence for LaDarris Jackson of Bogart.
The build is scheduled to begin in January and will employ volunteers from UGA’s Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council and Panhellenic Council.
Completion of the house is expected by the end of spring semester.
The Greek Life community consists of 58 sorority and fraternity chapters totaling over 5,000 students and the Order of Omega Leadership Honor Society. It is the primary sponsor of ugaMIRACLE.
Outgoing Interfraternity Council President Brad Valentine, Outgoing Panhellenic Council President Kathleen Robinson and Athens Area Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director Spencer Frye are scheduled to speak at the event. The event is open to the public.
