UGA student named winner of fellowship from Phi Kappa Phi

Athens, Ga. – Anjali Shroff, a senior biology and psychology double major in the University of Georgia’s Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, has been named winner of a Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship.

Shroff is one of 60 national winners of the fellowships, given by the nation’s oldest and largest honor society to members of the society entering their first year of graduate or professional study. Recipients receive $5,000 and a certificate.

Shroff, who is from Alpharetta, has been accepted to the Medical College of Georgia and will start there this fall. She will receive the certificate during Phi Kappa Phi’s spring ceremonies at the UGA Chapel on April 23 at 4:30 p.m.

Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi Kappa Phi has chapters on more than 300 campuses in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Philippines, including the University of Georgia. Each year, approximately 30,000 members are initiated. UGA’s chapter, founded in 1923, is one of the oldest in the country.
