Tony Award-winning Chet Walker to direct, choreograph ‘Chicago’ at UGA

The University of Georgia University Theatre will present Chicago, the world-famous musical about fame, fortune and "all that jazz" on April 12-14 and 18-21 at 8 p.m. and on April 22 at 2:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre. Originally crafted by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, Chicago at UGA will be directed by Tony award-winning guest artist Chet Walker.

The University of Georgia Theatre will perform Len Jenkin's "Dark Ride" March 27 through April 1 at 8 p.m. in the Cellar Theatre of the Fine Arts Building. An additional showing will be held April 1 at 2:30 p.m.

Brian Reddy, stage/screen veteran, UGA alumnus, in University Theatre’s All My Sons

University Theatre will present All My Sons, Arthur Miller’s searing examination of the American Dream, social responsibility, and relationships between fathers and sons. On stage in UGA’s Fine Arts Theatre, the production will run Nov. 3-4 and 8-11 at 8 p.m., with 2:30 p.m. matinees on Nov. 6 and 13.

Princes and princesses, romance and revenge in University Theatre’s Life Is A Dream

University Theatre will present a new adaptation of Calderón De La Barca's romantic, adventurous masterpiece of the Spanish golden age, Life Is A Dream. Adapted by director Marla Carlson and Ph.D. theatre candidate George Pate, Life is a Dream runs in the Cellar Theatre of the University of Georgia's Fine Arts Building Oct.11-16 at 8 p.m., with an additional 2:30 p.m. matinee on Oct. 16.

University Theatre opens with The 39 Steps

University Theatre kicks off its 2011-2012 season with Broadway's longest-running comedy, The 39 Steps. The production will run in the Cellar Theatre of the University of Georgia's Fine Arts building Sept. 22-24 and Sept. 27-30 at 8 p.m., with a matinee on Oct. 2 at 2:30 p.m.
