UGA receives third round of donated trees from Select SustainablePlus Tree TrustMore than 150 new trees have been planted on the University of Georgia campus in the last few months as part of a $1 million commitment from Oconee County wholesale nursery Select Trees through their charitable entity Select SustainablePlus Tree Trust. In the third year of the donation, the trees are being planted this year in honor of internationally-renown horticulturist and former UGA faculty member Michael Dirr and his wife, Bonnie. |

Lynd, an international expert on utilization of plant biomass for the production of energy, will give the University of Georgia Charter Lecture on March 29 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel. He will address "The Sustainable Resource Transition: Systemic Change and Enabling the Improbable." A reception in Demosthenian Hall will follow the lecture. |

UGA graduate programs ranked well by U.S. News & World ReportUniversity of Georgia graduate programs continue to rank among the best in the nation, according to the U.S. News & World Report's 2013 edition of America's Best Graduate Schools. UGA's School of Public and International Affairs ranked fourth among graduate schools of public affairs; the College of Education ranked 38th, up from 46th last year; the School of Law ranked 34th, up one position from last year; and the Terry College of Business ranked 57th nationwide. |
