Legion Pool to open May 23 for summer season

Legion Pool at the University of Georgia will open on May 23 for the summer season. Hours of operation are 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. daily through July 31, and 2-7 p.m. Aug. 1-8.

Campus Kitchen at UGA receives top student organization award

Campus Kitchen at UGA was named the University of Georgia's "Organization of the Year" during the 12th Annual H. Gordon and Francis S. Davis Student Organization Achievement and Recognition Awards, given out April 10 at the Tate Student Center. The hunger relief student organization, launched in March 2011, also received an award for "Outstanding Service to the Community."

Passport office to move to Tate Student Center copy shop

On April 15, the passport office in the University of Georgia Tate Student Center is relocating to a new space on the third floor, to Print and Copy Services. Previously located in the UGACard office, the operation is moving to the new space because of new federal regulations that prohibit the issuing of passports in facilities that produce other official identification cards.

Documentary and discussion with filmmaker will explore the roots of hate and conflict

The University of Georgia Office of the Dean of Students will host a showing of the documentary "The Anatomy of Hate: A Dialogue to Hope" on March 27 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 102 of the Miller Learning Center. A discussion with the filmmaker will follow the film.

Two members of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American military aviators in the American armed forces, will participate in a panel discussion on Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the University of Georgia Chapel. The discussion is free and open to the public.

Academic exchange program allows students to earn UGA credit at campuses nationwide

The University of Georgia's National Student Exchange program is accepting applications for students to participate during the 2013-2014 academic year. A domestic parallel to study abroad programs, the exchange allows students to earn credit at other participating institutions nationwide while paying UGA tuition and fees. The application deadline is Feb. 28.
