Artist Chung-Fan Chang to present gallery talk at Lamar Dodd School of Art

Visiting artist Chung-Fan Chang to present gallery talk at Lamar Dodd School of Art May 5

Athens, Ga. – Chung-Fan Chang, the Georgia Society of Contemporary Painters Visiting Graduate Artist, will present a gallery talk on the University of Georgia campus on Tuesday, May 5, at 6 p.m. The talk will be held in the Graduate Drawing and Painting Gallery (room S365) at the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Chang will discuss her work, which is currently on display in the gallery.

Chang creates large-scale, mixed-media drawings that convey motion, space and energy. Simple, monochromatic hard-edge forms and dense fields of whirling pen marks combine to create a sense of ships beset by heavy seas or “kites”(as Chang refers to them) caught up in turbulent air.

The Georgia Society of Contemporary Painters is a collaborative of painting graduate students at the Lamar Dodd School of Art. The school is located at 270 River Road. For more information, see www.art.uga.edu.
