Brian W. Haas, an associate professor in the psychology department in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, was recently quoted in a Las Cruces Sun News article about the benefits of hiking and being outdoors.

A rising number of studies and research confirm that nature has many beneficial health perks, like lowering stress levels and encouraging healing. It also positively affects mental health and emotional well-being.
