Open Enrollment for 2027 benefits will be Oct. 26-Nov. 6, 2026

The University System of Georgia Board of Regents has approved 2027 healthcare plans and premiums for active employees and pre-65 retirees, along with the 2027 Health Reimbursement Account contribution for Medicare-enrolled retirees.

For 2027, there will be no changes to deductibles, co-pays, coinsurance or out-of-pocket maximums in USG healthcare plans. Employee premium increases will average 6%, resulting in increases of approximately $4 to $52 per month, depending on plan and coverage tier.

Other changes and reminders for 2027 include:

  • Pharmacy benefits: Anthem members will transition from CVS Caremark to Express Scripts as the pharmacy benefit manager. CVS pharmacies will remain in network.
  • Well-being incentive: Healthcare-enrolled employees and spouses may earn up to $100 after completing the required Health Risk Assessment, with additional earning opportunities available to Anthem members.
  • Surcharge certifications: Tobacco use and working spouse surcharges remain $150 per month. Employees must complete the applicable certifications during Open Enrollment each year.

Open Enrollment for 2027 benefits will be Oct. 26-Nov. 6, 2026. Employees should review their options and complete benefit elections and required certifications in OneUSG Connect – Benefits by Nov. 6.

UGA will also host its annual Benefits Fair on Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mahler Hall in the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel, where employees can learn more about 2027 benefit changes and available USG programs.

Changes also affect some retirees, including Medicare-enrolled pre-65 retirees and dependents who will transition to the Alight Retiree Health Solution for 2027. Additional outreach to affected retirees is planned for September.
