Board of Regents changes retirement health insurance for future employees

The University System of Georgia Board of Regents voted to change how it pays for retirement health insurance for future hires at its October meeting, hosted at the UGA campus.

Employees hired on or after Jan. 1 will pay more for retirement health insurance with employer contribution based on years of service with USG.

The board also authorized more than $50 million in spending for new construction and renovations at UGA. The approved projects are a new building for the Terry College of Business, phase III renovations to the Health Sciences Campus and renovations to two student residence halls.
