Visitors to the Office of Research website will find it easier to find what they’re looking for through the site’s new artificial intelligence research assistant. Deployed across all sites within the research.uga.edu domain, the new chatbot was thoroughly trained on UGA content and tested extensively in fall 2025 prior to widespread deployment.
The AI research assistant is accessible through the red and white icon at the bottom right of the browser window when viewing a research.uga.edu site. The persistent icon will follow users as they navigate through other pages on the site, and it will also record user interactions with the chatbot tracked via their device’s IP address.
