Submit entries for the Generative AI Student Competition 3.0 by March 6

The Generative AI Student Competition returns for a third year, asking students to use artificial intelligence tools to create something meaningful that enriches the UGA community or experience.

Submissions are due March 6, 2026, and winners will be announced in early April. Monetary prizes — $600, $400 and $200 — and swag will be awarded to the top three submissions, plus a chance to share their projects in a spring symposium.

Submissions will be judged according to the innovative use of AI, creativity and impact on the local community or the lived experience of UGA community members. Submissions will also be judged on clearly stated documentation of the project’s development process, including its purpose, goals and choices guiding the development process, tools used in creating the project and detailed process notes.

All currently enrolled UGA undergraduate, graduate and professional students are eligible to submit work solo or in groups. Multidisciplinary group submissions are highly encouraged. Students may utilize work started for class assignments, conditional that the revised project is not then resubmitted as part of a class portfolio, unless the instructor has agreed in writing that the work may be reused. Students may only be involved with one submission.

The Generative AI Student Competition 3.0 is co-sponsored by the Office of Instruction and the Center for Teaching and Learning and is facilitated by Lindsey Harding, director of the Franklin College Writing Intensive Program, and Aaron Meskin, head of the philosophy department.

Entries must be submitted via the entry form by 5 p.m. on March 6, 2026, and include the following:

  • Information about the individual or collaborative team
  • The title of the submission
  • Information about the project, including:
  • A 300- to 500-word description
  • Any relevant instructions for use
