The event is open to UGA faculty, staff and students. Volunteers may choose from service activities at UGArden, Bear Hollow Zoo, Project Safe, Brooklyn Cemetery, Clarke Middle School, the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, Sandy Creek Nature Center, East Athens Community Center, North Oconee River Greenway, Keep Athens Beautiful, Learning Ally, Oasis Católico, the Athens Area Homeless Shelter, Coile Middle School and Nuçi’s Space.

Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. on Legion Field.

Transportation to some sites will be provided. Preregistration is required and a limited number of volunteer slots are available.

Also for Dawg Day of Service Aug. 24, the Athens chapter of the UGA Alumni Association is asking for volunteers to help with the annual Books for Keeps book sale for shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the Homewood Village Shopping Center, 2415 Jefferson Road.
