On June 17 at 5:30 p.m., Georgia Public Broadcasting, the PBS network serving all of Georgia, will air the documentary Alvar Suñol: His Vision and His Art. Betty Jean Craige, director of UGA’s Willson Center for Humanities and Arts and University Professor of comparative literature, was executive director of the documentary, directed by Alan Stecker, who recently retired from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and is now CEO of ASV Communications in Atlanta. Suñol is a world-renowned Spanish artist—painter, sculptor, lithographer—who recently gave the painting Plenitud to the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences for permanent display in the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center and Hotel.
