Kowalski named James C. Grimm Leadership and Service Award recipient

Gerard “Gerry” Kowalski, who recently retired as executive director of University Housing, was named the recipient of the 2020 Association of College and University Housing Officers-International James C. Grimm Award.

This award recognizes a dedicated individual who has provided ACUHO-I with outstanding leadership and has been committed to strengthening the goals and objectives of the association.

Kowalski filled a number of volunteer leadership roles at ACUHO-I, one of his most notable being his service as co-chair of the James C. Grimm National Housing Training Institute. In addition, he served on the Advocacy and Influential Leadership Task Force, the Conference Program Committee and the board of The Journal of College and University Student Housing.

The James C. Grimm Leadership and Service Award is one of several awards honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to ACUHO-I and the campus housing profession.
