Media Advisory: Governor Deal to speak at UGA’s Public Service and Outreach Annual Meeting

Athens, Ga. – The Honorable Nathan Deal, Governor of Georgia, will give the keynote address at UGA’s Public Service and Outreach Annual Meeting April 7 at 3 p.m. in Mahler Auditorium at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center.

Gov. Deal will speak on “Georgia’s Economic Future and How UGA Can Help Make it Brighter.” His remarks will focus on critical state challenges that the university can and should be addressing, and how UGA can support the state’s economic development efforts.

The meeting begins at 12 p.m. with the Public Service and Outreach Awards Ceremony and Luncheon in the Magnolia Ballroom. At 2 p.m. in Masters Hall, the Honorable Gretchen Corbin, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, will speak about “Building Communities – Together,” focusing on community development in Georgia and partnerships with UGA.
