Media Advisory: NCAA chairman and UGA president to present plan for football playoff

Athens, Ga. – NCAA Executive Committee Chair and UGA President Michael F. Adams will hold a press conference and conference call Tues., Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. to discuss his proposal that the NCAA manage an eight-team playoff to determine a national champion in the top level of collegiate football. In a letter to NCAA President Myles Brand, he asks that Brand appoint a committee of the NCAA Division I Board of Directors to study his proposal.
