The University of Georgia Performing Arts Center, in partnership with the Classic Center, will present Blue Man Group Nov. 6 and 7. Both shows will begin at 8 p.m. in the Classic Center Theatre in downtown Athens, Ga.

Blue Man Group is best known for multi-media performances that feature three bald and blue characters who take the audience on a journey that is humorous, intelligent and visually appealing. Blue Man Group is accompanied by a live band whose haunting tribal rhythms help drive the show to a memorable climax.

The New York Times has called the show, “One of the most delightful performance pieces ever staged,” and E! Entertainment News said, “Blue Man Group is what every live performance aspires to be.”

While Blue Man Group has enjoyed successful engagements in cities such as New York, Las Vegas and Berlin, this will be the show’s first U.S. national tour. “People may ask why it’s taken more than 20 years for us to mount a theatrical tour,” says Blue Man cofounder Matt Goldman. “The answer is simple: We wanted to get it right. As we prepare to bring our show to new audiences across the country, we needed to make sure we incorporated all of the knowledge we have gained over the years to make the most entertaining and emotionally powerful production ever.”

Tickets for Blue Man Group are $39-$79 with discounts for UGA students and groups. Tickets can be purchased through the UGA Performing Arts Center box office at 706/542-4400, toll free at 888/289-8497 or online at pac.uga.edu.
