Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia Performing Arts Center has created a new family concert series called the Saturday Morning Club. Designed for children ages 4-12, the series will feature performers from UGA’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music and will give young audiences an inside look at what it takes to make music.

“These fun concerts will be a great activity for the whole family to share,” said George C. Foreman, director of the Performing Arts Center. “And I encourage parents and grandparents to come with their children.”

The Saturday Morning Club kicks off Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. with the UGA Wind Symphony. After the concert, there will be refreshments and an interactive Instrument Petting Zoo. Oct. 26 is a bye week for the UGA football team.

The series continues March 22 at 10 a.m. with the UGA Percussion Ensemble, and April 26 at 10 a.m. with the UGA Hodgson Singers and Friends. All concerts take place in Hodgson Concert Hall in the Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are $6 for children and $10 for adults. Subscriptions for all three concerts are $14 for children and $24 for adults.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Performing Arts Center box office at 706-542-4400, toll free at 888-289-8497, or online at pac.uga.edu.

The Saturday Morning Club is presented in partnership with Athens Regional Health System.
