Richard Hudson, a public service associate in the department of agricultural leadership, education and communication, will receive the 2010 Distinguished Alumni Award from Slippery Rock University at an awards ceremony Oct. 22 at the university’s campus in Pennsylvania.
Hudson is being recognized for his work in higher education including teaching, holding leadership positions, writing grant proposals and coordinating the donation and planting of more than $1 million in sustainable shade oak trees for UGA’s campus. He is now working with other USG system institutions for similar plantings across the state’s campuses.
