Daniel Promislow, a genetics professor in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, was featured in a Canadian Broadcasting Corp. story about the lifespan of dogs based on their size.
At UGA, Promislow researches aging, and the genetics lab has studied aging patterns of flies, yeast, marmosets and dogs.
“What we found was that large dogs are actually aging at a faster rate, so large dogs appear to actually be…falling apart faster than small dogs,” Promislow told the CBC.
