A Chattanooga Times-Free Press article about snakes in Tennessee quoted Whitfield Gibbons, professor emeritus, senior research scientist and head of the Environmental Outreach Program at UGA’s Savannah River Ecology Lab.
The odds of pythons, boas or anacondas surviving north of the Florida panhandle are pretty low, he said.
“Probably, most of the species on that (Fish and Wildlife Service) list couldn’t make it,” Gibbons said.
