The University of Georgia Office of Emergency Preparedness has announced the recipients of the 2025 Edward T. and Sarah Laurent Kassinger Scholarship Award.
This prestigious scholarship honors full-time public safety professionals who demonstrate exceptional dedication to both their academic and professional pursuits.
This year’s recipients are:
- Caroline Bloodworth, emergency operations coordinator with the UGA Office of Emergency Preparedness, earned a Master of Public Administration at UGA.
- Noelle Broadnax, senior emergency operations coordinator with the UGA Office of Emergency Preparedness, earned a Master of Public Administration at UGA.
- Daniel Saunders, administrative division lieutenant with the UGA Police Department, earned a Master of Public Administration at Columbus State University.
The Kassinger Scholarship was established in memory of Edward Kassinger, former director of the UGA Public Safety Division, and his wife, Sarah. It supports employees of the UGA Police Department, the Office of Emergency Preparedness and students in the Criminal Justice Studies Program who earned an undergraduate or graduate degree while working full time.
“Caroline, Noelle and Daniel exemplify the spirit of service and scholarship that the Kassinger legacy represents,” said Adam Fouche, interim associate vice president for environmental safety, risk and resiliency. “We are proud of their academic achievement and their commitment to helping keep UGA safe.”
