The third annual Trees to Seas 5K Trail Run and Walk will take place May 19 at UGA’s Marine Extension Service on Skidaway Island near Savannah. The event will feature a 5K run or walk through the maritime forest, a half-mile “Challenge Course” for children 16 and younger and the Cephalopod Sprint for children 10 and younger. The races will be followed by free food, arts and crafts activities, face painting, live musical entertainment, a workshop for children and free admission to the aquarium. Event proceeds will benefit Low Elementary School.
Registration fees are $15 for the 5K, $8 for the Challenge Course, $8 for the Cephalopod Sprint before May 11; add $5 to each fee after May 11. Registration on the day of the event begins at 7 a.m.; the races begin at 8 a.m. Free activities will take place from 8:30–11 a.m.
