U. of South Florida president donates $1 million to study-abroad program

The president of the University of South Florida and her husband have promised to donate $1 million over the next five years to help more students there study abroad, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.

Judy Genshaft and Steven Greenbaum are making their gift to an endowment called the Passport Scholars Fund that will be matched by state funds. Students who receive aid from the endowment will be selected based on how study abroad will further their educational goals, the Chronicle reported.
