UGA Athletic Association encourages fans to “Spread the Red”

Athens, Ga. ¬- The University of Georgia Athletic Association is asking all UGA supporters to “Spread the Red,” by wearing red for the Bulldogs season opener on Sept. 3 against seventh ranked Boise State. The Bulldogs will play the Broncos in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game at the Georgia Dome in their new Nike Pro Combat uniforms featuring a red jersey and red game pants.

“We already know that there will be a large number of Georgia fans in the Dome to support us,” said UGA head coach Mark Richt. “What would be awesome is to have every one of them wearing red to help create a great atmosphere and help energize our football team,” Richt said.

During the week of the game, fans will be asked to participate in the “Spread the Red” effort of Georgia’s official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/georgiabulldogs). All fans that like the page and submit photos are registered to win Nike Gear and the fan with the best photo wins a Nike Pro Combat replica jersey and helmet and the limited edition receiver gloves that the Bulldogs will wear in the game. Officially licensed red UGA products can be found at the G Shop on www.georgiadogs.com.
