UGA Performing Arts Center Lobby Gallery welcomes ‘Living Legends of Georgia Music’

The UGA Performing Arts Center welcomes the best in classical, jazz and roots music to its stages. Now visitors to the PAC’s Lobby Gallery can spend more than four months with some of Georgia’s biggest pop stars.

“Living Legends of Georgia Music” is an exhibition by Georgia watercolorist Jackie Dorsey. It opens Aug. 25 and runs until Jan. 5, 2026. The opening reception is Aug. 28 from 5-6 p.m.

Dorsey is an award-winning artist based in Athens. In this series, she pays homage to eight Georgia-based living legends, including the Indigo Girls, Big Boi of Outkast and Mike Mills of R.E.M. Based on Dorsey’s own photo shoots, these paintings form a subset of a larger exhibition originally shown during summer 2023 at the Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens. It will be shown in an expanded version at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art in fall 2026.
