UGA signs international cooperative agreement with Mexican university

UGA and the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro of México have entered into an International Cooperative Agreement of Good Faith.

President Michael F. Adams, Noel Fallows, associate dean of UGA’s Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, and Alma Rosa Sánchez, dean of UAQ’s School of Languages and Literatures, signed the agreement in a Nov. 17 ceremony in Old College.

The agreement lays the groundwork to develop cooperative educational and research programs for faculty and students of the two institutions, including faculty and student exchanges, study abroad, collaborative research programs, seminars and workshops, and service programs.

Jane Gatewood, associate director of the Office of International Education; Nina Hellerstein, head of the department of Romance languages; Doris Kadish, director of the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute; and other representatives of Romance languages, LACSI and the department of anthropology also attended the signing ceremony.
