The UGA Wind Ensemble has an upcoming tour to Paris and Switzerland.

The UGA Wind Ensemble will perform in concert on Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. in Hugh Hodgson Concert Hall at the Performing Arts Center as part of the 61st annual January High School Band Festival at UGA, also known as Janfest!. The concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.

The Wind Ensemble will perform a concert of traditional and new repertoire, as well as several light selections from last fall’s outdoor “Concert on the Lawn.” Selections include Aaron Copland’s popular Fanfare for the Common Man, selections from the hit musical Wicked, the rousing Liberty Fanfare by John Williams and a new work by New York composer Wayne Oquin, featuring UGA clarinet professor D. Ray McClellan.

“It’s always exciting for the members of the Wind Ensemble to perform for the enthusiastic young musicians at Janfest!,” said John Lynch, director of bands and professor of music at UGA.
