UGACard office to offer weekend service on March 24

Athens, Ga. – The UGACard and Passport office in the University of Georgia Tate Student Center will open for special weekend hours on March 24. The office, located in room 309 of the Tate Center, will be open from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in conjunction with the U.S. Department of State’s annual “Passport Day in the USA” event.

Agents will be available for anyone who needs to submit a passport application. Identification cards will be produced as well, and door prizes and refreshments will be available for applicants.

Passport applications require proof of citizenship, a valid government-issued identification (two forms of identification are required without a valid Georgia driver’s license) and one set of passport photos, which may be produced in the office for $8 per set. A personal check or money order is required for State Department fees submitted with the application. The $25 execution fee due to UGA, plus photos fees if needed, can be paid with cash, personal check, credit/debit card or Bulldog Bucks.

Applicants may complete and print all of the necessary forms online at www.travel.state.gov. The forms also are available in the card office.

Free parking is available in the Tate Student Center parking deck on weekends. For more information, call 706/542-9226 or see http://passport.uga.edu.
